|
Saturday 17th of November 2001 - [1:40 p.m.]
|
Did you hear the bells ringing from Appeal? Zeo told us long ago
about Kizaar, the Talan women's island. Now thanks to the last
interview with Franck Sauer, we know that the city on this island
is called O'Lanta. For those who still doubt to see Talan women in Outcast II
Here is something to jog your memory: zeo_women_G_3_us.wav

|
Saturday 10th of November 2001 - [11:57 a.m.]
|
The FAQ from Appeal has been updated in our preview section.
The most interesting points to note are:
   - The estimated hardware configuration (PIII 750Mhz, 128MB RAM and a video card 32MB VRAM like
     GeForce and Radeon).
   - Game controls will be a deeper evolution from the ones in Outcast 1.
   - Music will be compsed by Lennie Moore and played by The Moscow Symphony Orchestra.

At last some answers! - Jami
|
Thursday 8th of November 2001 - [1:54 p.m.]
|
Appeal revealed some elements of the scenario. To summarise, Cutter after coming back from Adelpha, retired to Montana. Meanwhile, after improving the dimension travel, the Terrans intensified the exchanges with the Talans. Under the project Kronos, they want to send more scientists, journalists and soldiers to protect them and the Talans. The goal is to establish research and cultural exchange centres.
Edit: New artworks added and script section updated.

Outcast 2 screens: third batch - Nuelan
|
Thursday 25th of October 2001 - [12:34 a.m.]
|
Appeal just made available the
third screenshots batch. As it
was expected they show indoor renderings. This is all the more
interesting given that the voxel engine is badly suitable for this
achievement. Outcast's indoors were thus made with a polygon
engine and we're going to be able today to estimate the
advancement.
Note that the next batch, which will be released on November 6,
will deal with storyline and characters. Screenshots will give way to brand new artworks

For those who dream in orange! - Jami
|
Thursday 25th of October 2001 - [6:24 a.m.]
|
For those who are not that motivated for the green t-shirt, Burst produced a splendid modification of one of the screenshots of Cutter in order for him to get back his orange jumper. Here is his work:
About this subject, answering a mail from Kazar, Franck Sauer precised that it will be explained to the players what happened to this orange jumper when Cutter came back on Earth.
But he specially promised that we will be able to replace his green t-shirt with the orange via a cheat code in the retail version.
Isn't life beautiful?

Brand new interview with C. Fabricatore - Nuelan
|
Friday 19th of October 2001 - [0:39 a.m.]
|
Luke Guttridge from www.ferrago.co.uk just send me
an e-mail to tell us that he made available online a brand new
Outcast 2 four pages interview
with Appeal's Outcast 2 Project Manager Carlo Frabricatore.
Even if Appeal's staff can't tell us too much because of their
formal Outcast divulgation policy, they start to talk... little by
little.

really cool!
Edit: we have updated the screenshots

Besides, Appeal should make some news available each couple of weeks and the next screenshots to come on October 25 will show several indoor renderings.

Due to this event we have created a new rubric, "Pictures", which contains all published artworks, "old" Outcast 1 screenshots, some photos of the Appeal team and especially 9 screenshots of Outcast 2. For the moment there are only landscapes but more screens with Cutter should be shown on October, the 11th exactly.
We also updated Rumours heading, which is now called Preview.

Appeal : Interview - Nuelan
|
Thursday 27th of September 2001 - [1:00 a.m.]
|
Outcast is indisputably one of the more innovating and more
striking game of these last years and its sequel is thus one of
the most coveted adventure game to come. Despite this, more than
two years afterwards, almost no information filtered through.
Nevertheless this September seems to announce a new era: a set of
news raises our hopes and to start, an interview with Appeal's team
was made by Mathias Martin aka Auk in collaboration with
www.outcastii.net.
But stop chatting and lets go to the interview .
Thanks to the whole Appeal team for their devotion, especially for
the shooting stills!

Take a look at the Appeal website, here is what you can see :
|
In the meantime... - Jfrey
|
Monday 3rd of September 2001 - [9.30 p.m.]
|
In these rather calm times we made some (small) improvements to
the website. Yes, we are working without interuption!
In addition to the graphic changes, two new headings have appeared.
One whose title is Press, gathers the articles published about Outcast II
and the other one, named Talans, reveals more information about the
background of Outcast.
Some among you will have noticed that the communication links
moved to the right menu.
