Well I'm writing a story for a mod too, the story is far to be released but I want to know if you think this story can be good, or if it's crap.
I've beginned it as if it was a fan-fiction because there weren't tools to do mod at this moment. Furthermore it is VERY inspired by The Kronos Project. A last precision, when I began it, I wanted to be the closest to Outcast story, and even to TLP story, and without interferences with them. I mean that in Outcast Cutter don't meet my characters so I mustn't do them meet Cutter in my story...)

Well here is the sum up of what I have already done :

My story takes place near the end of the game, just before Cutter enter in the Fae Rhan's palace.
In Okaar 6 Marines are "materialized" with their equipment (I think a kind of armoured carrier plus weapons/objects and maybe a 4x4...) but it sink in front of the waterfall (who is dry if i remember well). Their mission is to find the first team (Slade, Wolfe, Kaufman and Xue) and to help them to repair the probe, and also to "pacify" Adelpha from all threat. But the chief of the team has also a second "unoficial" mission...

When you play with Oc, have you noticed that chiefs soldier (big one with black armor) have evoluate weapons, they don't use their essence to fire, but rockets, grenade launcher or storm ? I have do a little hypotesis : Xue had stolen important plans of human weapons (maybe prototype because you don't have them...)before leaving Earth to Adelpha...

So your secret mission is to find these plan (why not in a computer ?), but I don't know if this mission is known at the beginnig of the story or if I must wait the middle of the story to reveal it...
Btw, the little team is without any weapons because they have sunk, so they decide to explore around of their position. But they meet few soldiers who went to the Dolotaî camp (where Cutter was inprisonned). The discussion is very short, Soldiers begin to fight, and human, who can't defend them, are captive. They go to the Dolotaî camp, and discover that all sodiers have been killed. So Talans decide to go to Zorkatraz to inprison human...

I have write more than this sum-up, but I don't know if it is very interresting...
In the following of the story, the marines team helps Talans to fight again soldiers in the civil war while Cutter is in the palace, they meet a strange talan mad, they explore Ranzaar far from the Gardian camp, and they may (i'm not sure) meet an other team of humans, a bad organisation from the future (i think) who want to take over the plans of Xue...

So please tell me if it is a big shit or if you would like to know the following, but be honnest...

To be honest, at the moment I'm interested in every story written about OC and its world Adelpha. AFAIC I think that we do need many initiative like yours to sort out nice ingredients - kinda brain storming [;)]

So keep up the good work [up]

Err the only problem is that I don't have a very good english, furthermore if I write all the story there won't be suspense... But if I have time, I can do some drawings... err I'm not very good at drawing... [:/]

Well I can add just some precision : Just before the final, a lot of soldiers have died under your fire, so I have imagined that some soldiers were hidden, so when Cutter go to the palace, they intent to gather together all survivors.
Also, a lot of talans of Okriana said that Fae Rhan's palace had a great part of it under the floor, so If it's possible I want to do a part of my story in this "underground" (but i think it would be very hard to modelize, because voxel engine can't do indoor map, so maybe with poligons (like under the waterfall)... And if it is possible, i want also to have a cavern in Motazaar... And also I have already write a little attack by gorgors... But i intent to stay in the spirit of Oc... and it's not very easy, not for the story but for creatures: I want to add new one, but I don't know if it's a good idea. It's the same problem for the "unknown organisation" : I think i gonna go away from Outcast story, and I don't want. I wan't my story (and so maybe the mod...) to be possible as if when you play at Oc, you can say : "yes when I enter the Fae Rhan palace, an other team of human can be in Okriana, I can't see them, so it can be true" It's for that the team won't meet Cutter, but maybe they will see him... Like in Half-Life Opposing Force when Sheppard enter in the teleportation room...

And a last thing, if it's possible, and I think that it would be great, that each mod (or almost) can have a sort of "link" : I mean that if Ash create a new character in his story, why i won't do him appear in my story, and vice versa? Even if this character has a great importance in "Another Story" and just appear in other story without any role...

Well that's my point of view.

Well, using characters that reappear in mods is a great way of linking two stories together.
I've got another idea like that: remember that Talan (Mogul or something) in Motazaar, who had gone to Okriana to get a part for the bridge, but his friend got killed by gamors? Well, why not have him give your character the quest to find that part somewhere in Okriana (remember that he was a very lazy talan).
Just a thought....

Stories ? Ok ... But I haven't seen some sort of a scene yet ... It's nice to talk about big screenplays, but where are the pics, where are movie samples of these ? Where ? A screenplay that doens't have 'cameras' is not a screenplay, but just a novell ... Show us 'images in motion' ...

Well I don't remember all the story with this Talan, but i know what happened to his friend... I don't want to show all my ideas, but if Mogul (?) won't give a real quest to the Marines, he has a great importance in the sub quest by explaining them the situation...

Well, I'm not the only one to do a story, but I'm open to every ideas, so, if you agree, Antaeus, I'm interrested by your ideas (But I don't remember what Mogul really told to Ulukai for Okriana...
[confused] ) so if you can say more about your thought... [:)]

To Zigue: Yes you are right about the difference to see between novel and screenplay. And it's also my problem. I have writed the beginnig of the story like a screenplay, and also some "scenes" like you said, but when i did this topic I didn't want to post it, i preferred summing up it in a kind of novel... But I have all the "storyboards" in my mind, I have tried to draw some of them, but the result was ashamed

Well as I can't for the moment post a real view of my mind (but I'm trying to improve my talent at drawing ! [:D] ) I will try to post a description if the team tonight or tommorow night...

Call me crazy, but shouldn't you guys first think of ways to make your MOD a bit real? I mean, it may seem as cool, but in fact it came out as crap (if I may say so)

Let's try to keep it business.
I think what MR means is that we should first get the engine up and running, and then we can start with the story, quests, locations, characters,....

Ow yeah: it might be interesting to add some RPG elements to the game. This doesn't have to be with levels and all, but it might include getting better accuracy with guns you use a lot and stuff...

Actually I meant something like: In your imanigation the MOD thing may seem as the best thing of 2002 (except for the LPF - dutch folks will get that last one [;)] ) but when groupies and hippies are beginning to construct the MOD, what you see may be something like my mother's rear end...
Don't get me wrong: it CAN be done, but it's extremely hard. You'll have to know really good C and C++ plus lots of other stuff.......
