[8)] I have been watching this forum for a VERY long time. I don't have a lot of background in MOD's at present but I plan to work on the tutorials that are online for Unreal 2003. I have a background in computer programming but don't know any of the languages required for this project (I guess that's not a necessity for a MOD though). All I know is that Outcast is my VERY FAVORITE game and I have been an avid gamer since the days of the old Atari systems!! If you would like me to be a part of the team, I will do whatever I can (or will be able to do) to forward this project!! Outcast II MUST become a reality!!
Hello!! Thanks for the positive response!!! It is an honor to be able to work alongside all of you in this worthy endeavor!!! I can help with the storyline and, as I am also honing my skills in MOD's, will be able to grow alongside you and create another wonderful adventure for Cutter!!!! What do you need right now? Are we definitely going to be using the Unreal engine for the MOD?? I am planning to take some of the courses that are offered free on their site. (Did you know there is a million dollar prize for a MOD?) Also, the 3dBuzz site is another excellent link!!!
Would it be worthwhile at this point to begin working on a storyline while we get "up to running speed" on everything else? [8D]
if you are familiar with the OC1 story and have an interesting idea abot a possible sequel ... sure, go for it! having a story will surely do us no harm . however, please don't post your ideas here on the board.
as far as UT-tutorials are concerned -> i have tons of links in my "bookmarks". most of them deal with exporting stuff to UnrealEd, because that's what i am interested in :) . i can post them later if anyone cares

oh, about that...
yes that's the plan for now, but if HL2 is relesed soon (the next possible release date is february 2004 afaik) , it would be smart to check out it's engine and, in case its suites our goals better, we can probably go with it
Oh, yes!! I am VERY familiar with the OC1 story!! It's the MOST WONDERFUL game ever made in my opinion!! I would love to help with the story line. Also, it would be helpful if you posted those links to the UT tutorials and exporting stuff to the UnrealEd. You said to not post ideas for the story line in the forum. What is the best way?
damn i am away for the holidays so i wont be able to provide you with the links until the and of the year, sorry.

you can mail us you ideas about the story . not a very good way i have to admit anyway my e-mail is mail_toshiro@yahoo.com .
another possibility would be that we all meet at IRC and discuss it...
Have you read the Script yet? It's quite good. Maybe we could take some elements from that.
We'll probably start with the Unreal 2003 engine and move onto Unreal 2004.
We still need to see Far-Cry, Half-Life II and Doom 3, though. All their engines look promising. [moder]
