Unusual Install - Install problem

I have used patch 1 before my install and now after seemimg to install all that is installed seems to be the install exe, which then goes through the install process again?!!! I seem to be in some king of install loop, help! I am running 800mhz AMD Duron system & win 98se & DirX9.

Not very clear what you said, but anyway ...

Be sure you install from patch 1 and not from the original installer, 'cause both of them may appear at the same time, which is a bit confusing ... Launch the installer from patch 1, then be quick and close the original one ...

OK I will try this again.
Using patch 1 to install outcast; It has gone through the install routine but afterwards all I find is a new version of the install exe file in the outcast directory. This then runs the install routine AGAIN, (loop return to line 3) afterwards all I find.............. So it is not installing the game exe but a copy of the install exe file. Or am I going comletely bonkers!?

OK, I seem to have figured it out!
Using the desktop or menu shortcuts do not run the Outcast, but using the loader program in the oc folder does.
Ahhh here we go again, maybe I will finish it this time.
