Well, I played the 2-level Deus Ex Demo, and I think it rocked bigtime...man, the second mission (NY) is just huge and there is so much to see and do, although I must say that your options of exploring get rather limited if you don't have a high skill in lockpicking...

Hm true, but you'll get that soon enough. It's only a small prob in level one, from there on you can find keys or codes to almost everything. I always had too many lockpicks/multitools on me. Anyway, buy the full version. I guarantee, it'll get a LOT better once you turn on ur bosses (that every wellminded person would already start to hate from the point where you capture the NSF leader in the statue of liberty)..
