bad music tracks + echo in voices

I installed outcast under win xp,
could'nt lauch it in 640*480
when i load a game it says "bad music tracks, do you wish to continue?"
so there is no music, and a terrible echo behind the voices of the characters...

any idea of what i could do??

Set the sound hardware acceleration to minimum and play at 512
