This is ive bought 3 versions of outcast.......first a low budget one then a proper one then a dvd one......now....I cant install the patches cus it says my copy is Illegal which isnt true! help!

U've got a DVD version ?!?! Where'd u buy it? I'm looking for it for over...2 years now!

Well, one thing's for sure. OC was fun, until directx 7 showed up. Then all the bugs started. Ah well, I really loved the time I had with the game.

i know why it dit the same too me it uninsald right after i instald it so you have to decode the uninstal so it wont deletet outcast

what about not installing the patches?
try installing the game on a friend's computer and if it doesn't work
I guess crack may be the only way

Hello everybody i have some questions for you (if anybody wants to answer me...)
Well i have a 640X480 resolution patch but it doesn' t work.How can i do or where can i found a same patch who work??? I have also an other probleme : When i had directx 6 the forcefeedback of my joystick was great with this game but now... now i have dx 8 and outcast patch but no forcefeedback. If anybody can help me...That's all i wanted to ask. Sorry for my (probably) bad english but the forum about troubles doesn' t exist in french... dommage...
I hope outcast 2 will be released soon (dreams are free...)

For the forcefeedback, i don't know....i just know that outcast don't really like DirectX8...

Well there is a way to install outcast without a patch:

Install the game using the method provided on the auto run cd. then when the installer says 100% reset your computer. Then when Rebooted install the game again and it will say there is some problem with the uninstallation. ignore it and move along with the install. The game will not be removed when it is installed and can only be Unistalled by removing the uninstall file and install the game then it is removed.

Or just download a Unistall file place it in the directory where u want to install outcast install and receive the same problem with there might be a problem unistalling and remove the same way. Only I do not know where this file can be obtained.

The message I got from infogrames was to go into the c:\program files\outcast directory.

Open up notepad, do file and save as, without typing anything in the file, and call it uninstal.isu.

Then run the patch and stuff as normal.

Uninstall can now only be achieved by deleting the uninstal.isu file.

If you do this right, the file should exist but if you look at properties it will say 0kb as the size
