Elsewhere Entertainment seem dead as there have been no updates from them and their website is gone. If it is, this would mean there is no one to take on OutCast II now or in the future :-( They didn't even release Project Alpha... Anyone know if it's true?

Eslewhere Entertainment was never supposed to developp OC2. As for their game Symbiosisthere is still liitle news but no indication that they went bust too.

i dont think elsewhere is dead. project alpha- symbiosis - is scheduled for 2005 (don't know which part of the year) anyway, so there is no reason to assume that the game has been canceled. symbiosis is one of the few games i am really looking forword to...it would be a shame if it doesn't get released.

I'm looking forward to see Symbiosis too, but I've seen some web pages, and it doesn't seem to be nothing like outcast 2, i think that it's an independent story. Don't blame for being pesimist, I WANT to play oc2, but i'm realistic, and i don't believe it is possible.... [ouin]

My fear is not that there wont be an Outcast 2 my fear is that there will and it will be crap.

I emailed Yves and he says that Atari (formally Infogrames) owns the rights to Outcast. Elsewhere has no plans of making Outcast 2 because they don't own the rights anymore.
Atari will probably not make a sequel because they only care about making money. They don't care about making good games. Only profitable ones. [moder]

I don't think Elsewhere is dead. They probably been busy and are too lazy to update their site. [;)]

I'll still always have hope for Outcast II. Maybe I should keep harassing Atari with emails. [loll]

Well, you misunderstood me, i didn't say that elsewhere is dead, i said that OC2 is dead. Like jub jub said, atari won't do it, but i don't understand it, OC2 would make a lot of money, there are thousands of fans, an now it would be for PS2 and XBOX too, so with a good campaign, it would be a hit, I think so, I still have hope... [rolleyes]

What annoys me is that a huge amount of games are trying to be like Grand Theft Auto 3. Everyone is trying to make games where your character is a violent criminal.

I miss the games where your the good guy...games like Outcast. [nooo]

Anyways, I think someone will see the potential goldmine Outcast II is, and they'll hopefully buy the rights, and make the game. [cheer]

I've also posted a thread on their forums asking them why they don't make Outcast II. I haven't gotten any replies yet.
If that doesn't work, I'll just spam them with emails until they reply. [:D]

As has been said before Atari are only interested in making money, if this is the reason they don’t make outcast 2 then why haven’t they sold it on better to make some money then none. The fact that Atari aren’t selling on the rights to outcast in my opinion shows that they may have plans for the future.
