Hi All - If there's anybody left that checks this that is,

Recently purchased a used copy of this game, but can't get it to run on XP w/ SP2. The version I have says made in E.U. on the cd's by the way.

I've searched thoroughly on this site and several other googled sites. Downloaded about half a dozen patches/fixes and a crack (which didn't seem to work, and which did download a trojan despite the home page's banner declaring 'No Trojans!'), but I'm still stuck with a 'wrong disk inserted' error when it asks for CD2.

Can anyone tell me which patches I should use to get this running (preferably, by file size of the patches)?

Thanks

Hi Jami,

Thought I did that already, but tried it again anyway. Same result.

I uninstalled the whole thing and reinstalled it using this ocpatch3 from Appeal (11.5 mb) only. At the beginning it gave me a runapp error or somesuch but still installed.

Then I used autorun and the intro played. I pressed space bar to skip it, but it gave me a player.exe ctd error. So I replayed it and pressed esc to skip it and it asked for cd2 (same as if I play the whole intro). At this point, I get the same error when I put in the second cd (wrong disc), and can get no further.

If anyone got this and got around it, I'd appreciate a little help. Thanks

Yo download this: ftp2.outcastii.net/outcastik/outcast_loader.zip . There are 3 loaders. Try one after the other if one fails but start the game from the loader not your desktop icon.
Hope it works
