I wonder i f there is a way to activate the 640x480 option on the DVD. The special loader that is on outcastii.net doesn't work. Thanks.

Could someone post what they know - The link is dead now, and I'd like to see what this game is capable (now) :)

I remember playing it way-back-when in 320x240 res to make it run at a decent speed... Now that seems like a joke! :D

The link is not dead, it's mistyped. Here's the good one: viewtopic.php?t=337

Ok, this thread is really old, but maybe someone will search for a solution, so it might still help [:)]

By chance i found out, how to directly change resolution. I tried this only with the downloadversion of outcast (gog.com) and the hi-res pack. The point ist, to set resolution in the file, which belongs to the cpu, that is shown, when you start the loader (i.e. Pentium III 550 + 64 MB.ini).

[performance]
resolution=1280x960
cinemascope=true

Maybe it works with the cd-version too, but for that low price i would buy the game again at gog.com.
It's patched, and runs under WinXP without slowdown in the mud and riding the Twon-Ha, so what?

And I'm floating in a most peculiar way, and the stars look very different today.
